I wanted to showcase the performativity of the action of eating rice continuously with the chopsticks and mark the aftermath of that action onto the chopsticks in photographic clarity to best exhibit the raw documentation.

MATERIAL: Bamboo Chopsticks

CUT/ENGRAVED:  Engraved

FILE PREPARATION: 3x6in stills from video pieced together in a long 3x72in image (12images), grayscale tif.

SETTINGS USED: 

Trotec software settings: Jarvis, 2 passes full power, 1 pass 25% power

Material Template settings: Wood, 2 passes full power, 1 pass 25% power

TROUBLE SHOOTING:
-After tests, the image needed to be adjusted for lights and darks to be more contrasted.

-Multiple passes through the lasercutter sometimes needed for greater engraving contrast.
